The Bouncy Block (formerly known as the Foil Block) is a material block in Build A Boat For Treasure. It features the unique property of elasticity, allowing objects to bounce off.

Obtaining[]

The Bouncy Block is purchasable from the Shop at 300 Gold for 50 blocks.

Former methods[]

Prior to its permanent addition to the Shop in 06/03/2022, it was originally obtainable by completing the Soccer quest. Later, it was made purchasable for a limited time at 50 Gold for 3 in the Shop. The player could have obtained 50 Bouncy Blocks from the expired code "a scattered code", which was part of the Secret Code Letters easter egg.

Appearance[]

It is a purplish block textured like a metallic piece of tin. The Paint Tool's color changes are less pronounced on this block than other Materials due to this.

When zooming out, the Bouncy Block seems to appear more vibrant: when the camera is close, it looks more blue, but becomes more pink as the distance increases. This is likely because ROBLOX tries to unload textures far from the camera for optimization.

History[]

  • 08/31/2018: Bouncy Block added to the game for the Soccer quest.
  • Unknown: Added to the Shop for a limited time (20 days) at a rate of 50 Gold for 3.
  • Unknown: Shop price adjusted to 275 Gold for 25.
  • 06/03/2022: Re-added to the Shop permanently at a rate of 300 Gold for 50.

Bugs[]

  • Blocks on or beneath Bouncy Blocks will act like a magnet on the ground.
  • By surrounding the player in Bouncy Blocks completely, it can cause a flight glitch.
  • Adding Bouncy Blocks under boats/builds will make them very shaky.

Trivia[]

  • The Bouncy Block is the second lightest block in the game, the first being Plastic. It is lighter than Wood.
    • Because of this, a player can fly with a Jetpack even if they have many Bouncy Blocks attached to their avatar.
  • Placing a seat or Firework in the avatar's head and placing a Bouncy Block underneath will make a pogo stick.
  • Bouncy Blocks will usually stop bouncing after a while.
    • Sometimes, their rotation will cause them to bounce even higher, imitating perpetual motion.
  • The Bouncy Block can be launched farther than other blocks at very high speeds by shooting it with a Cannon. This can be done with large amounts of merged blocks.
  • This does not have the same texture as it does in the build menu.
